I had the pleasure to present an overview on Visual Effects at Synergy Quantum Academy, a top Charter High School in South Central Los Angeles. The event was targeted to students in the Graphic Design class taught by Danielle Trent. During the 45 minutes window, I included a slide show of some of my work to accompany my presentation, concluding with an engaging and encouraging Q&A. It was exciting to hear their questions and inquiries about Visual Effects. The objective was to peak curiosity and educate young people about a point of entry in this career path.
This is a sample of my TED Talk-style presentations to students who are willing to show enthusiasm in Art, Design and Film Making. Ironically, a 'Bucket-List' of mine was to talk to schools in the South Central LA region, to share my talent in these regions that might not have the same opportunities as other schools in the more affluent ares of LA.
I look forward to doing many more presentations in the future, refining and tweaking the talk to suit the needs of different classes of students of that share their passions in Film making, more respectfully, the Visual Effects in help telling a story in Film.
